MIA

I'm not referring to Mathangi Arulpragasam.

I know I haven't posted in awhile. I'm getting bored by this blog again. I never know what to post. I have been uploading more pics on my Flickr page though. That's been a bit more inspirational for me lately.

I'm weirdly excited for the free month of Netflix I just signed up for. I tend to forget how powerful and inspiring movies can be. We watched the "Guest of Cindy Sherman" last night. I haven't looked at her work in a really long time and boy is she one talented lady. The movie was okay. I almost lost interest after the first 15 minutes or so but then became more engaged. I enjoyed seeing footage and the obvious transitions in the NYC art world from the 80s until now. It ended up being sad and discouraging to me, but as is life one would say.

REALISM

These artists are so talented. I discovered them on the forum gallery site. These are all examples of paintings that are so amazingly realistic that some could pass for photographs. I'm in awe.

Stephen was one of my painting professors at the HAS. He's how I first discovered this gallery. A bunch of students went to one of his gallery openings there years ago.

These immediately popped out at me from the print & pattern blog. They remind me so much of my vintage pyrex collection. If only I had a picture to show you...darn! They're pretty sweet, yes?
